More premises across Fife can now upgrade to faster fibre broadband through the £428 million Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband rollout. To unveil the latest upgrades, the Digital Scotland team visited Scotland’s Secret Bunker near St Andrews. The Cold War era tourist attraction is among the first premises in the area to upgrade to ultrafast Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) technology.

Engineering-mad schoolboy Cameron Francis had his wish come true this week when he and his Glasgow classmates got an exclusive lesson in engineering. The nine-year-old from Glasgow wrote to Openreach asking if he could visit his local telephone exchange, signing off as Cameron Francis. Contractors working on behalf of Openreach, Scotland’s digital network business, are due to start traffic-sensitive roadworks on the Shawhead to Carnbroe stretch of the A8 on Monday, 29 October 2018.
