Birmingham is one of eight cities named today by Openreach to lead the drive for ultrafast broadband, as build accelerates from 2018 to cover urban and rural communities. The news has been welcomed by West Midlands Mayor, Andy Street. Openreach's programme is set to reach 10 million homes and businesses by mid-2020s.
